National Aims
Parallel to widespread international success of its EFL department, Frisby College has also expanded on a national scale, designing and delivering training courses to corporate clients such as NHS nurses, dentists and entire departments, as well as small to medium-sized businesses.
It is the College’s mission to enable all learners to access a path to Higher Education, specifically including and focusing on learners whose first language is not English. The College’s aim is to improve employment prospects for local learners who have missed out on learning pathways and to improve their employment prospects by equipping learners with internationally valid qualifications.
To achieve this, the College runs accredited courses in cooperation with TOLES Legal English, as well as Trinity College London. The College has seen a rising demand for courses in education, health, computing, and business & management, both from the relevant industry sectors as well as from learners, and has added these to its course portfolio.
International Aims
English Language courses
Frisby College partners with education providers and institutes around the world to share its methods and passion for improving how English as a foreign language is taught internationally. This includes externally accredited teacher training to enable teachers to gain confidence in the classroom when teaching EFL, using modern methods and authentic materials. The Frisby Method of teaching places emphasis on student involvement and a learner-centred approach to teaching, in order to facilitate maximum student involvement, leading to high success rates and a vastly improved retention rate for institutes abroad.
Further projects are in preparation, with the consistent long-term aim to improve provisions of EFL teaching for teachers and learners, and to offer learners relevant and practical advice on their course progression and careers. This has, for instance, been achieved in Saudi Arabia by providing learners with course certificates issued by the Saudi government, in order to attest the certificates issued by Frisby College for the Saudi employment market.
