Experience the heady atmosphere of a 1950's fish wharf and take the wheel of a steam drifter. Hear gripping tales of wreck and rescue and meet some of the colourful characters who made their living from the sea. Explore the original smokehouses where the lingering aroma of smoke fish is a reminder of times gone by. Enjoy fascinating archive film shows and hands on displays and relax in the attractive courtyard beneath a canopy of sails.

Sport and Leisure Activities

Great Yarmouth has plenty of activities for your holiday. There are 118 hectares of parks and open spaces including informal gardens, providing havens for you to relax, unwind and enjoy yourself. Watersports can be found slightly further inland at the Trinity Broads where canoeing, sailing and windsurfing are all fun activities on the water. For those who'd like to travel slightly faster, hire a river cruiser and explore Breydon Water or cruise along the winding Broads network. The Marina Leisure Centre has a tropical pool, flume slide, wave machine and children's play area. There's also a very popular indoor roller skating rink next door.

Entertainment and Nightlife

Whether you're after a quiet meal and drink with friends, or have plans for a big night out, Greater Yarmouth is home to a huge number of restaurants, pubs, clubs and late-night bars, so you're sure to find several where you feel right at home.
